• Sweet almond oil is extracted from highly nutritious and extremely beneficial nuts. More often than not, the extracted oil is refined, but unrefined almond oil has a number of advantages, not least because it retains all the biologically active components of the almond kernels. One inconvenience of unrefined organic oils is that they can leave an oily sheen on the skin, but almond oil is almost fully absorbed despite its increased oiliness. It is an excellent nourishing agent, often used as a base for cosmetic formulations for dry, dehydrated, aging, and depleted skin, and is very beneficial for the skin of the lips and other delicate areas that require enhanced nourishment.
